Why see Matthew Bourne's Cinderella?

30th Anniversary production

Matthew Bourne's Cinderella will return on a major UK tour in 2026 and 2027, marking 30 years since the production first premiered in the West End in 1997!

An Epic Reimagining

Bourne's interpretation of Prokofiev's haunting score has, at its heart, a true wartime romance, and his storytelling has never been more passionate and touching.

His revised version debuted in 2010, introducing new choreography and design elements to the age-old fairytale, and went on to tour extensively across the UK, winning critical acclaim and attracting a whole new generation of audiences for Prokofiev's work.

What Is The Story?

A chance meeting leads to a magical night for Cinderella and a charming young RAF pilot - just long enough for them to fall in love. In the middle of the chaos and crippling fear of the Blitz, they find a brief moment of escape. But as quickly as they come together, war pulls them apart, leaving Cinderella holding onto only the memory of a love that couldn't last.
